October 13, 2025
02/10/2025
PLEASE-Baleares, a platform for education, friendliness and road safety, is made up of the following entities and companies: ABA (Balearic Association of Driving Schools), ADALMO (Waste Management), AHPM, Playas de Muro Hotel Association, ADSUM INTEGRIA, ASIMA (Mallorca Industrial Association), AUTOVIDAL GROUP, CEMEX, DIRKOM, the Communications Office, FCIB (Balearic Cycling Federation), FEBT (Balearic Business Federation of Transport), FEHM (Mallorca Hotel Business Federation), GARDEN HOTELS, VERLIO GROUP, HERMES BALEARES, and UNISPORT CONSULTING. The second roundtable on road safety will be held this Monday in Playas de Muro, organized by PLEASE-Baleares in collaboration with Garden Hotels and the Playas de Muro Hotel Association.
At 5:30 p.m. this coming Monday, October 13, 2025, a Road Safety Roundtable will be held at the Garden Holiday Village Hotel (c/Circuit del llac, s/n. Playas de Muro), bringing together key representatives from Balearic entities and organizations related to road safety on our roads.
Presented and moderated by PLEASE's general secretary, Iñaki Miranda, the event will include road safety expert Antoni Cánovas, veteran cyclist Paco Cuenca, roadside assistance expert José Carlos Rodríguez, and Muro Local Police Chief Toni Carrió.
With the aim of contributing to the reduction of road accidents in the Balearic Islands, PLEASE-Baleares has proposed a specific workshop on the subject this coming Monday with key stakeholders in the sector. This event will bring to the table all the factors and solutions that should be proposed to the institutions responsible for road traffic in the Balearic Islands, in addition to improving and eliminating all the black spots that still appear on the maps of the islands. In particular, the hotel area of Playas de Muro and Port d'Alcúdia up to Ca'n Picafort is currently a stretch of the Mallorcan coastline that is very popular with pedestrians, cyclists, and cars, as well as coaches and heavy goods vehicles, especially during the summer months. Therefore, it is very important for the hotel sector to contribute practices that improve road safety, as well as promote coexistence and respect on all roads.
