Road Safety Day
PLEASE-Baleares, the Platform for Education, Courtesy, and Road Safety, is comprised of the following organizations and companies: ABA (Balearic Association of Driving Schools), ADALMO (Waste Management), AHPM (Playas de Muro Hotel Association), ADSUM INTEGRIA, ASIMA (Mallorca Industrial Association), GRUPO AUTOVIDAL, CEMEX, DIRKOM, Gabinet de Comunicació, FCIB (Balearic Cycling Federation), FEBT (Balearic Business Federation of Transport), FEHM (Mallorca Hotel Business Federation), GARDEN HOTELS, GRUPO VERLIO, HERMES BALEARES, and UNISPORT CONSULTING. The second edition of a roundtable discussion on Road Safety will take place this coming Monday in Playas de Muro, organized by PLEASE-Baleares in collaboration with Garden Hotels and the Playas de Muro Hotel Association.
October 13, 2025 At 5:30 PM this coming Monday, October 13, 2025, and at the Garden Holiday Village hotel (c/Circuit del llac, s/n. Playas de Muro), a Round Table on Road Safety will take place, bringing together the main representatives of the entities and organizations of the Balearic Islands related to road safety on our roads.
The event, presented and moderated by PLEASE Secretary General Iñaki Miranda, will feature Antoni Cánovas, a road safety expert, Paco Cuenca, a veteran cyclist, José Carlos Rodríguez, a roadside assistance expert, and Toni Carrió, Chief of the Muro Local Police.
With the aim of contributing to the reduction of road accidents in the Balearic Islands, PLEASE-Baleares has proposed organizing a specific workshop on the subject this coming Monday with key stakeholders in the sector. The workshop will address all the factors and solutions that should be proposed to the institutions responsible for road traffic in the Balearic Islands, as well as improving and eliminating all the accident black spots that still appear on the islands' maps. In particular, the hotel zone from Playas de Muro and Port d'Alcúdia to Ca'n Picafort is currently a stretch of the Mallorcan coast heavily trafficked by pedestrians, cyclists, and cars, as well as coaches and heavy vehicles, especially during the summer months. Therefore, it is crucial for the hotel sector to contribute practices that improve road safety, as well as promote coexistence and respect on all roads.
